Taylor Jernigan was named to the Express News All-Area Super Team and is one of three finalists for Express New Player of the Year, which will be announced on June 1. Lethal Enforcer selected Taylor for its 2022 All-Texas Girls 6A Starting XI based on votes from fans, coaches, and the media. This recognition comes in the wake of Taylor’s record-setting 2021-2022 season in which she scored 40 goals, a new Reagan Girls’ Soccer record, plus 13 assists. One of those 40 goals was the game winner against Johnson in Round 3 of the playoffs to clinch a spot for Reagan in the Region VI Tournament. Taylor was also named TASCO 6A First Team All-State – forward, District 28-6A MVP and First Team All-District – forward, and Academic All-District. Taylor is committed to play soccer for Texas A&M University.
Junior midfielder Brooke Castillo was named to the Express News All-Area Super Team. Brooke led the Lady Rattlers in assists with 21, including the assist to Taylor for the game winner in the playoff victory over the Jags! Brooke was the team’s second leading goal scorer with 13 goals on the season. Brooke was also named TASCO 6A Second Team All-State – midfielder, District 28-6A First Team All-District – midfielder, and Academic All‑District.
