Four players from the District Champion Lady Rattlers Soccer team received more accolades this week.
Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) named senior captain Hailey Borbón to the TASCO Senior All-Star game Region IV roster. The Region IV All-Stars will face off against the Region III squad on May 15 at 3:30 pm at Blossom Athletic Center. Borbón was also named TASCO First Team All-Region – defender, District 28-6A Defensive MVP, First Team All-District – defender, TASCO Academic All-State, THSCA Academic All-State, and Academic All-District. This season Borbón notched 6 goals and an assist. She will be attending the University of Arkansas this Fall.
Sophomore Taylor Jernigan was named TASCO Second Team All-State – forward. Jernigan was the District 28-6A MVP, First Team All-District – forward, and Academic All-District. She led the Reagan offense with 36 goals and 13 assists on the season. Jernigan was selected to the U.S. Soccer U-17 Women’s National Team player pool and attended the U.S. Youth National Team Regional ID Center Training Camp in March, among other accolades.
Junior Jadis Kirk was named TASCO Second Team All-Region – midfielder. Kirk was also named First Team All-District – midfielder and Academic All-District. She led Reagan in assists this season with 15 and also added 7 goals. Kirk has verbally committed to play soccer for Colorado State University.
Senior captain Courtney Canion was named TASCO All-Region Honorable Mention – midfielder. She also earned First Team All-District – midfielder, TASCO Academic All-State, THSCA Academic All-State, and Academic All-District honors. Canion scored 6 goals and had 5 assists in her senior season after battling back from a season-ending knee injury her junior year. Canion will be playing soccer for Dallas Baptist University.
