Lady Rattlers senior defender Lauren Mueller signed her letter of intent to play soccer for Dallas Baptist University. Lauren is a four-year letterman, four-year starter, and a senior team captain.
As a junior, Lauren was named First Team All-State, District 28-6A MVP – Defender, First Team All-District, Express News All-Area Super Team, and Express News 6A All-Area Team.
In her sophomore season, the Lady Rattlers made a deep run into the playoffs to the Elite Eight – Region IV Championship. Lauren was named All-District First Team and Express News 6A All-Area Team.
The Lady Rattlers were District Champs in Lauren’s freshman season, and Lauren was named All-District Honorable Mention.
Lauren has strong academics and is a member of the National Honor Society. She was Academic All-District in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and is expected to be named Academic All-State and Academic All-District in her upcoming senior season.
Lauren is joining a very successful DBU Women’s Soccer program. Nationally ranked DBU just clinched its fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference regular season title. They won the Lone Star Conference tournament championship in 2022 and made it all the way to the NCAA Division II Tournament National Final Four in 2021.
DBU Head Coach Marcus Wood had this to say, “Lauren is a perfect fit for Dallas Baptist University. We look for high character student-athletes, who are outstanding student-athletes, who love Jesus. Lauren’s academics speak for themselves. Each coach we spoke to could not say enough good things about Lauren and her character. As a player, Lauren is a standout for her Classics Elite ECNL team, and she was recognized as a 6A First Team All-State player. It is a big challenge to compete at the high level of college athletics. We are confident that Lauren is up to the challenge. We all look forward to going to work with her!”
