Reagan senior Jace Selsor was one of the last ones to leave the Wolff Stadium dugout Monday after a season-ending 6-2 loss to Laredo Alexander.
Selsor was one of three seniors returning from last year’s squad that reached the state championship game, and they heard early in the season that a return trip to Austin was going to be difficult.
Selsor and the Rattlers played their Region IV-6A semifinal series against Alexander in Laredo, Corpus Christi and finally in San Antonio, but offensive struggles trailed them no matter where they played.
The Bulldogs topped Reagan in Game 2 of the best-of-three series to sweep the defending Region IV-6A champions and avenge a loss to the Rattlers (30-7) in last year’s regional semifinals.
