Lady Rattlers Take 3rd in Gold Bracket at Georgetown Tourney, Kick Off District TONIGHT!

Your Lady Rattler Basketball Team has been super busy finishing off tournament season with a third place overall finish at the Georgetown Jack Frost Tournament Dec 2nd-4th.

Pool play was three games over Thursday and Friday, with the Ladies taking all games, including Mansfield Legacy 49-39, Ponder 64-52 and Round Rock Home School 67-48.

The Gold Bracket Final Four game was a hard-fought match against 4A multiple-time state champion Argyle, Coach Zac Tabor’s previous school.  In a back-and-forth, heated contest with Reagan up three with four minutes left, Reagan was suddenly without two starters due to fouls, and Argyle pulled out the win 62-55.

Junior Samantha Wagner and Sophomore Joana Lopez were named All-Tournament.

Notable stats are:

  • Wagner averaged 26.75pts/13.0reb/3.25asst/1.0stl/1.25blk over the four games
  • Lopez had a 17-point game, hitting five-for-seven three-pointers vs. RRHS
  • Kelsie Hawkins averaged 8.25pts/3.0reb/3.75asst/1.75stl over the four games
  • Senior Miranda Noack had 6pts/4reb/3stl vs. Ponder and 11pts/4reb/2asst vs. RRHS
  • Junior Ava Schroeder, who went down hard and was injured in one of the early games, scored 6pts/6reb/4asst vs. Ponder
  • Freshman Sahara Green had eight points vs. Mansfield

Tournament season is now over for the year and the ladies start District play tonight against Roosevelt at 7:30pm at Reagan.
