Senior Brooke Benne is a forward for the Rattlers and has committed to continue her soccer and academic career at Ashland University in Ohio. Brooke started playing soccer when she was 2 years old with her older sisters, Reagan alums Samantha and Kate. Brooke was motivated by her sisters’ work ethic and discipline, and hoped that through the same effort she could reach their high level. Brooke looks up to LA Galaxy’s Son Hueng-min for his speed, finishing ability, leadership and positive attitude.
Brooke is the Rattler’s leading goal scorer for the 2nd year in a row and her senior year she earned Unanimous First Team All District-Forward. Some of her favorite Reagan memories were winning Ian’s Cup and all of the Woodlands trips.
Brooke will play for 2x OCSA Women’s Coach of the Year Cayleb Paulino who has been with the Eagles since 2021. “We are very excited to have Brooke join our program here at Ashland. Her willingness to take defenders on and create chances is what separated her from others in our minds as a staff,” Coach Paulino said. “Most importantly, she is a great teammate, a great student, and a great person. She is going to move the needle for us competitively as a program as well as fit in with the culture we have created here.”
Brooke is excited to compete at the college level, get to know her teammates and represent the Eagles. “All the players on Ashland’s team have a winning mentality and give 100% to everything, and it shows in the results,” she said. “The coaches are dedicated to player development, always wanting to raise the standard of both the individuals and the team.”
