After a successful set of scrimmages over the last week, going 5-0 in unofficial mini-games, your Lady Rattler Basketball team started off the season Friday night with their first official game against NISD Holmes.
The Rattlers opened up the season at Paul Taylor Field House with a 71-50 win with senior Sammie Wagner going off for a 30-point/12-rebound double-double, and junior Joana Lopez hitting SIX threes for her 18 points.
Holmes kept the game close in the first half with impressive three-point shooting and made free throws, closing out the half with the Rattlers up 39-35. In the third quarter the Rattlers pulled away, allowing the bench to play out the fourth, getting some good stretch play for a team that is carrying an efficient total bench 11 players.

- Wagner with four assists and three blocks
- Lopez was over 50% shooting from three
- Senior Reese Stephens with seven points and a team-high five assists
- Sophomore Sahara Green with seven points in 75% shooting, three steals and two assists
- Senior Aza Molina with 50% shooting on six shots for six points
- Senior Ava Schroeder with four assists and two blocks
The Lady Rattlers play next New Braunfels HS at New Braunfels on Tuesday, November 8th at 6:30pm, and open tournament play on Thursday the 10th at the BeYOUtiful tournament hosted by Austin Westlake.
