Lady Rattler Soccer’s Taylor Jernigan Signs with Texas A&M

Lady Rattlers senior forward Taylor Jernigan signed her letter of intent to play soccer for Texas A&M University. Taylor is Reagan’s all-time leading goal scorer and points leader with 90 goals and 215 points, and she did it in just three seasons! She is a two-time Express News Player of the Year and District 28-6A MVP. She is graduating in December to get an early start on her college soccer and academic career.

The Lady Rattlers advanced all the way to the Elite Eight during Taylor’s junior season. She scored 40 goals, a Reagan single-season record, and added 13 assists. In addition to being the Express News Player of the Year and District 28-6A MVP, she was named All-State First Team, All-Region First Team, All-District First Team, and Express News All-Area Super Team and 6A All-Area Team.

In her sophomore season, the Lady Rattlers were District Champs. Taylor led the team in scoring with 36 goals and notched 13 assists. On top of being hailed Express News Player of the Year and District 28-6A MVP, she was All-State Second Team, All-District First Team, and Express News 6A Area MVP and All-Area Team.

In her freshman season, Taylor led the Lady Rattlers in goals and assists and was awarded All-State Honorable Mention, District 27-6A Co-Newcomer of the Year, and All-District First Team.

Taylor has been invited to multiple US Soccer YNT Regional ID Center camps and was called up for the U17 YNT virtual camp. In club soccer play, she made the ECNL Texas All-Conference Team in 2021 and 2022 and was selected to participate in the ECNL Player Development Program. She plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League and twice made the Red River Southern Division All-Conference Best XI. She is a Top Drawer Soccer 4-star recruit.

Taylor was honored as a National Merit Recognition Scholar. With a 4.22 GPA, she will graduate Summa Cum Laude. She was Academic All-District in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Taylor is joining an Aggie Soccer program that has enjoyed much success under Head Coach G. Guerrieri. The Aggies just got a bid for their 27th NCAA tournament and have ten regular season and eight conference tournament championships in the SEC and Big 12.
