Reagan’s Joshua Arnulfo Torres has committed to run NCAA Division I Track and Field for the United States Military Academy at West Point. The Army Black Knights are part of the Patriot League Conference.
Joshua received a congressional nomination for admission to West Point. Joshua’s dream is to become a United States Army Officer and live a life of service to our nation in the field of medicine. He intends to continue his family’s legacy of service to our country in the tradition of his brother, his father, both grandfathers, both great grandfathers and many other family members who have also served in the military.
Joshua has served as a Varsity Track Team Captain for the last two seasons and has demonstrated remarkable leadership through exemplary performance as a sprinter and service to his teammates and his mentor, Varsity Track Coach, Dennis Remmers. Joshua has participated in club track for both SASE and SWIFT based in San Antonio. Other sports Joshua has enjoyed in high school are wrestling and jiu jitsu.
He is also a member of Reagan’s National Honor Society, Student Council, and has been a Class Officer both his Junior and Senior years.
Aside from sports, Joshua enjoys spending time with his family, and outdoor adventures like hunting, fishing, and camping. He also has played in his school rock band, his church’s worship band and brought music to residents of long term care by playing his guitar and singing.
We wish Joshua continued success and fulfillment as a West Point Black Knight! You can follow him next year @GoArmyWestPoint.
