Reagan’s Josephine Zink signed her National Letter of Intent today for Track and Field with the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Josephine (Joie) is a four-year Varsity letterman and an NEISD Academic All-District and TGCA Academic All-State Athlete. Joie is a 400M athlete and a member of the Lady Rattler 1600M Relay. She has earned several medals over her career as a Rattler. Her 2022 highlights include:
- School Record Holder – 1600M Relay (Season Best 3:47.40)
- District Champion and Record Holder, Area Champion, Regional Champion – 1600M Relay
- Texas Relays Finalist – 1600M Relay
- State Qualifier – 1600M Relay
- Regional Qualifier – 400M Dash
Head Coach Jennifer McHugh commented, “Joie is without a doubt an accomplished sprinter; however, Jo’s grit is unique. Joie will recognize a mental or physical boundary and push beyond it. She’s fearless when she competes. Her willingness to risk and push her boundary, coupled with her service to others, leaves no doubt that she was made for the Academy.”
In addition, Josephine is a Summa Cum Laude graduate, a member of PALS (Peers Assistance Leadership & Service) and Student Council.
