Senior Carson Pharris was one of only seven NEISD students to receive the Virgil T. Blossom scholarship. One student from each NEISD high school who plans to pursue a career in teaching, is selected for this competitive scholarship.
In addition to his interest in the teaching profession, Carson was selected based on his accomplishments during high school. He has been a standout athlete in both Football and Track & Field. He has also served as a Senior Class Officer, President of Future Educators of America, member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Winner’s Circle, and volunteers weekly with Special Olympics.
Carson plans to continue his academic and athletic career at New Mexico State University.
Congratulations Carson on being a Blossom Scholarship recipient and best wishes for future success!
