Fittingly on National Girls & Women in Sports Day, Lady Rattlers Soccer and Tennis senior Ellie Held signed national letters of intent to play soccer and tennis for Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Ellie is a three-year soccer letterman and senior captain and a two-year tennis letterman.
During her junior soccer season, Ellie was named All-District Honorable Mention – Forward.
With a 4.4 GPA, Ellie is in the top five percent of her 2024 graduating class and will graduate Summa Cum Laude. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society and was a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. She was named Academic All-District in 2022 and 2023 and will be named Academic All-State and Academic All-District in her senior soccer season.
Here is what Transylvania’s Head Tennis Coach Bill Carey has to say about Ellie, “Ellie’s joyful spirit and enthusiasm are immediately apparent when you meet her, and her energy is infectious! The fact that she is willing to accept the challenges of being a multi-sport student athlete at such a high level demanding university is a testament to her drive and determination, and bringing such excitement to it is just next level. I truly could not be more excited to have her on the Transylvania University Women’s tennis team next year and really look forward to her contributions on court and on campus; there is no doubt that we will be better with her.”
