Three Rattler Wrestlers made the Texas 6A Preseason Rankings list. These rankings are based on last year’s District, Region and State Tournaments. Many athletes will be changing weight classes and have been putting in offseason work – keep an eye on these and other Reagan Wrestlers for future rankings as the Season gets started November 20th with the Charger Classic at Churchill!
Junior Jimmy Benne is ranked 4th in the State at 132#. Benne is a 2nd year Captain and 3rd year Letterman for the Rattlers – he went 16-4 with 13 pins in last year’s unusual season, and has an overall 48-19 record at Reagan. In 2021 Benne won District, Placed 3rd in Region and qualified for State.
Junior Sawyer Peevy is ranked 7th in the State at 220#. Peevy is a dual-sport letterman in football and wrestling; last year he went 11-4 with 4 pins, bringing his Reagan career record to 16-21. In 2021 Peevy earned 2nd at District, placed 4th in Region and qualified for State as an alternate.
Senior Blake Jensen is ranked 15th in the State at 182#. Jensen is a 4 year Letterman and 2nd year Captain for Reagan – he has a career record of 53-33 as a Rattler and went 8-4 last year with 6 pins. In 2021 Jensen battled to 2nd at District.
The future is bright for these athletes as well as many others who are all putting in the work!
