Luke Price signed his commitment today to play basketball while continuing his education at St. Edward’s University in Austin.
Price played four seasons for the Rattlers and is a three-year Varsity Letterman. After suffering a knee injury that left him sidelined for the second half of the 21-22 season, he came back full force for his senior year. In addition to serving as a team captain for the 2022-23 season, his accolades on the basketball court include:
- All-Tournament Team – Jack Frost Invitational and Diamondbacker Invitational
- Unanimous 1st Team All District
- All Region Team
- San Antonio Area Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star Team
- Jordan Clarkson All Star Team
- Texas Association of Basketball Coaches – 2nd Team All State
Luke also excelled in the classroom earning Academic All-District and Academic All-State.
During Price’s time with the team, the Rattler’s set two school records.
- Best overall record (32-6) in Reagan history (2021-22)
- Undefeated District Champions (16-0) for the first time in school history (2022-23)
The team also made it to the Regional Semifinals (2021-22) and Regional Quarterfinals (2022-23) in back-to-back seasons.
Reagan’s Head Basketball Coach, John Hirst, commented, “We are extremely proud of Luke Price for earning a scholarship to play basketball and further his education at St. Edward’s University! St. Ed’s is getting an elite student/competitor/and teammate who we believe will end up being the future leader of their program. Luke represents all that we hold close in our Reagan Basketball Culture – he is tough as nails on the court and four times as tough mentally as he is physically! We could not be happier for Luke and his family!”
Price also played for San Antonio Fire.
