It’s an exciting day for the Reagan Rattlers varsity tennis team as they celebrate Angela Pozos Perales’ signing day. Angela signed with Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biology with the intention of going to Nursing school. Angela is a 3-year letterman, who started on the varsity tennis team her freshman year at Alexander High School in Laredo, TX. When she transferred to Reagan just before her sophomore year, she had to endure a tough surgery, limiting her to only play for Reagan’s JV-A team during the 2nd semester of that year. With hard work and dedication, she came back strong and took one of the few available spots on the varsity team her junior year. During her time on varsity, Angela contributed to 3 team season District 1st place wins and additional Bi-District and Area titles as well. She played #1 and #2 mixed doubles; #1, #2, and #3 girls doubles; and #4 and #5 singles.
In addition to tennis, Angela is a 3-year active member of the Reagan Varsity women’s mixed and show choirs. She is also graduating Summa Cum Laude in the top 6% of her class with a GPA of over 109, earning her the Academic All-District achievement. On top of that, Angela worked as a tennis coach for the Jewish Community Center (JCC) and also volunteered at the Alamo Racquetball Association (ACRA) and the YMCA of San Antonio as a fitness coach and tennis coach respectively.
Congratulations to Angela for all of her achievements in her high school career. We wish her well in her athletic and academic future.
Wings up for the future “Saint”!
