Reagan’s Andra Daniel made her commitment official to play tennis for Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia.
Andra is a 2-year letterman for the varsity team, as she played her way onto the varsity team midway through her junior year. She quickly showed prowess as a doubles specialist, but has been making consistent strides as a singles player. This past fall, Andra paired with teammate Amaya Yovanovich at line two doubles and was in the rotation at the six singles position. Andra and Amaya went undefeated in district play this past season in helping the team win its 11th straight District Championship, advancing to the area round of the playoffs and finishing the season ranked #18 in the state at the 6A level. In addition, Andra will be a Summa Cum Laude graduate this year and has been Academic All-District both of her varsity years.
“Obviously, I could be a little biased since Andra is my daughter, but I couldn’t be prouder of her development. If you would have told me that Andra had designs on playing college tennis at the start of her freshman year, I would have laughed at you, but she caught the tennis bug, and I think she has a high improvement curve ahead of her. I’m very happy she has found a program with a solid coach and team at Berry College where she can continue that trek in tennis while pursuing her goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. I have been blessed to have been her coach…and her dad,” says Coach David Daniel.
You can follow Andra next year on Instagram @berrytennis. We look forward to this Rattler serving on court as a college Viking! Best wishes as she pursues her Exercise Science degree toward Occupational Therapy.
