Alum, Ty Summers, gives back by hosting football camp at Reagan HS

July 4, 2021

Our community was excited to see former alumni and now NFL Green Bay Packer, Ty Summers, hosting a free football camp at Reagan through the BamFam Foundation. Over 100 kids from all over San Antonio participated in the camp.

Ty was a 2014 graduate from Reagan. He was a Team Captain for the Rattlers playing both quarterback and safety. His last season at Reagan, he earned numerous honors including Texas 5A All-State Quarterback Honorable Mention, San Antonio Offensive Player of the Year, E-N San Antonio All-Area 1st Team, Unanimous 1st Team 26-5A All-District, Academic All State Honorable Mention, and Reagan HS Football MVP. He was a three year varsity letterman in Football and two year letterman in Track.

Summers went on to play football at Texas Christian University (TCU) where he made his impact as a Linebacker and Defensive End. At TCU, he earned Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

In 2019, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. In both his 2019 and 2020 seasons, he played in all season games and racked up some impressive stats in tackles. Check out his career stats and biography here.

The BamFam Foundation works within communities across America to help provide an educational atmosphere through the use of team sports to youth. Children discover and learn sports with Pro players through free programs within their community.

Thank you Ty for making an impact on and off the field! Wishing you and your Packer team all the best in the next season!
