What a season, what a team, and what an incredible group of individuals who came together to represent Reagan High School with pride, heart, and determination!
The team had one final challenge standing between them and a trip to the state tournament: the regional final against Westwood High School from Austin, held right here in San Antonio on October 16.
We knew it wouldn’t be easy. We knew our players would face tough matches, and the relentless 53 mph winds certainly didn’t make things any easier! Our Rattlers fought hard, gave it everything they had, and left it all on the courts. Although our season came to an end, they walked away with an incredible accomplishment: 6A Regional IV Finalist!
We couldn’t be prouder of the way this team represented Reagan. It wasn’t just their tennis skills, competitive spirit, grit, and resilience that made this season special. It was their pride in their school, their support for one another, and their ability to balance the demands of tennis with their academic responsibilities. They proved that this team is about so much more than winning matches. It’s about character, friendship, and family.
As we celebrate this remarkable season, we also want to recognize one of our very best: our team captain, Pablo Alvarez. Pablo will graduate early this year, making this his final Reagan team season. He has been an invaluable part of the team, both on and off the court, and his leadership, dedication, and positive spirit will be deeply missed. Pablo will be joining his family in Spain as he continues pursuing his tennis career. We are incredibly proud of him and wish him every success and happiness in this exciting next chapter!
A heartfelt thank-you to our players, coaches, parents, families, and friends for the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and support that made this season so memorable. Every one of you played a part in this journey!
The team season may be over, but the work continues! Individual season begins in the spring, and until then, our Rattlers will keep practicing, improving, and preparing for what’s next.
We are so proud of you, Rattlers! You made Reagan proud!
Go Rattlers!
Strike ’em!
