Reagan Water Polo Takes on NEISD Tournament

The Reagan High School boys and girls water polo teams faced a competitive weekend at the NEISD Tournament, taking on strong opponents in a true test of endurance, teamwork, and determination.

With five games played over two days, both teams were challenged to stay focused, communicate, and remain composed in high-pressure situations. Head Coach Jared Kaminski noted the positive growth and grit displayed by both teams throughout the tournament as they continue preparing for district play.

The boys used the demanding tournament schedule to test their depth and conditioning while showing strong individual production early in the season.Alexander Hibberd leads Reagan with 46 goals, followed by Kai Tse Hashemiyoon with 34 goals and Ben Theesfeld with 29 goals. Theesfeld also leads the team in assists with and points with 57, while senior Connor Mayo has added 18 goals and 12 assists. Senior goalkeeper Teddy Caskey has been a force in the cage, leading the team with 89 saves.

The girls gained valuable experience throughout the tournament while continuing to battle against quality competition. Strong contributions are coming from across the lineup, with Allie Callister leading the team with 41 goals, 14 assists, and 55 points. Hattie Bailey follows with 17 goals, 11 assists, and 28 points, while Victoria Trevino De La Pena has recorded 16 goals, 13 assists, and 29 points. Caitlin Chmiola leads the team with 11 steals, while Aria Flores and Veronica Viramontes Perez anchor the defense in goal with 33 and 27 saves, respectively.

The Rattlers will build on the experience and lessons from the tournament as they turn their focus toward district play, which begins September 11th.
