Tuesday, January 28 is the 16th annual Ian’s Cup soccer showdown versus Johnson at Comalander Stadium. This highly anticipated double header opens with the boys’ game at 5 pm followed by the girls’ game at 7 pm. At the end of the night, the highly coveted Ian’s Cup and bragging rights go to the school with the highest aggregate score!
Following the Ian’s Cup trophy presentation, the Ian’s Foundation will award four scholarships to deserving seniors from each of the four squads competing. To date, over $77,000 in scholarships have been awarded by the Ian’s Foundation.
Ian’s Foundation was formed in memory of Ian Fincke to advance helmet safety awareness and the safety and welfare of San Antonio’s youth. More than 8,500 helmets have been distributed in Ian’s memory.
