REAGAN BOYS TAKE 3RD AND GIRLS TAKE 4TH AT CHARGER CLASSIC

On Saturday your Varsity Wrestlers competed in the Charger Classic at Churchill, with the Boys earning 3rd place with 164 points, only 3 points shy of 1st place. The Girls took 4th place, just 1 point away from 3rd place.

Junior Caedmon Garcia placed 1st at 285#, scoring 26 team points. Garcia had a first round bye, pinned his way to the finals and kept the streak going with a first period pin to take first.
Senior Captain Grant Schnieders placed 1st at 157#, contributing 25 team points. Schnieders teched his first opponent and in the quaraterfinals won by pin in the first period. He won with another tech fall in the semis, and won the final with an narrow 4-2 decision versus a very tough Round Rock Opponent.
Junior Ethan Hamlin placed 2nd at 215# and scored 19.5 team points. After a first round bye, Hamlin breezed through the quarters and semis with an 18-2 tech fall and first period pin, but came up short in the finals.
Sophomore Zayden Hernandez placed 2nd at 106#, scoring 16 team points. Hernandez pinned his first opponent in the 2nd period, won by a close 7-3 decision in the semifinals, but dropped the final.

Junior Hannah Dunn earned 2nd place at 126#, scoring 20 team points. Dunn pinned her way to the final match where she came up short for 2nd.
Junior Captain Shobhana Spielmann placed 2nd at 114# and contributed 18 team points. Spielmann pinned her way to the final before coming up short to take 2nd.
Junior Captain Mekeyla Garcia placed 3rd scoring 16 team points. Garcia won the quarters by pin, but dropped the semis. On the back side of the bracket she she cruised to 3rd place with two more pins.
Freshman Gabryela Garcia took 3rd place at 120#, scoring 15.5 team points. Garcia had a quick first period pin before droppiing the semi-final match. On the back side of the bracket she earned a 23-5 tech fall victory and a 2nd period pin for 3rd.

Reagan may be on Thanksgiving break, but your Reagan Wrestlers are not! Next up is a dual at Bowie High School on November 26th, starting at 9:00am.
