Reagan’s Caroline Holcomb Commits to Dive at Penn!

November 13, 2024

Reagan’s top diver Caroline Holcomb signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Penn U has an elite diving team that competes in the Ivy League conference as a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I university.

Pictured today at the signing ceremony with her mother Debbra Holcomb,  she is also supported by her father Jones Holcomb, sister Meredith Holcomb, brother Wesley Holcomb and Reagan Aquatics Head Coach Michael Rourke.

“Divers are the most underrated athletes on this campus,” Rourke said. “Caroline and her diving teammates are at the pool almost an hour before the swimmers, and they put the work in day in and day out.”

Holcomb, who began diving in 2014, has been a valued member of the RRHS Swim and Dive team since she was a freshman. Her many accomplishments include being a 4-time Varsity diver, 3-time district winner, 3-time region medalist, 3-time state qualifier, a state finalist, and a 3-time national finalist. Holcomb was most recently crowned as the 2024 Amateur Athletic Union 1 Meter National Champion during a highly competitive competition in July at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As awe-inspiring academically as she is athletically, Holcomb is currently ranked 2nd in her graduating class with expectations to graduate summa cum laude, within the top 1% of her class, in May of 2025.

Rourke said, “I am so impressed by her diligence both on the boards and in the classroom. I cannot speak enough praise for what Caroline brings to the team as a whole.”

Speaking fondly of her time at Reagan, Holcomb said, “These are the days we’ll never forget—the laughter, the late nights, and the lessons that shaped who we are.”

Rattlers will never forget this superstar diver either. “Caroline has helped build a strong foundation of Reagan divers for years to come,” Rourke concluded.
