April 24, 2024

Throughout his four year career, Luke helped the Reagan Varsity XC secure two consecutive District title wins as well as ensuring the XC Boys Varsity would make it to State for the first time in over 20 years. Luke’s dedication to his running is inspiring. He has logged over 1,820 running miles which ironically is
the distance from San Antonio to his future alma mater, New York University!
Luke lives by the motto of being intentional, he said, “We spend a small part of our life really living, all the rest is merely time, so do everything with an intention.”

Luke’s teammates, family, and friends have seen him handle adversity with grace and strength. When asked about it he said “Do not let adversity define your actions and mentality.” Those are some wise words.
Head XC Coach Rachel Freeman had this to say “I’ve had the privilege of watching Luke grow as a runner and a person over the last four years. He is dependable and determined, and I know he’s going to continue to be successful in all his future endeavors. Strike ‘em.”
Congratulations Luke and good luck with your continued academic and athletic success. Go Violets! Keep living with Intention! You can follow him next year at @nyuxctf.
