Varsity Softball Ends Season on a Winning Note

April 19, 2024

The Rattler Softball team picked up two wins in its final week of the season to end on a winning note and take momentum into next year.  The young team loses only two seniors and will see the majority of its starters returning.

Earlier in the week, the Rattlers defeated Roosevelt 19-2.  Freshman pitcher Ally Reyes struck out 15 batters, giving up only four hits and two runs over seven innings.  Alyssa Burnett (So.) led the Reagan offense going 5-5 at the plate with a double and four singles.  Avery Allen (Jr.), A’mari McMath (So.), Mina Galvan (Fr.) and Macie Thiel (Jr.) also contributed multiple hits for the Rattler offense.  Galvan led the team in runs batted in with four.

In their final game on Friday night, Reagan came away with an impressive 10-2 win over the Brandeis Broncos.  A. Reyes again earned the win for the Rattlers, giving up six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five.  McMath, Allen, Galvan, and Leila Reyes (Jr.) each had two hits apiece.  Thiel added a double and drove in a team-leading three RBI.

Reagan ends the season with a 13-12 overall record, 6-10 in district play.
