A Strong Performance By 2 Reagan Pitchers Secures A Shutout for Reagan Varsity Baseball Over Clark

The pitching was strong for the Rattlers on Tuesday night against Clark Cougars Varsity. Kaleb Rogers earned his first win in district play as the starting pitcher. He recorded 8 strikeouts, with 0 runs scored over 6 innings. He allowed only 2 hits and walked 2 batters. Darden Wetherell entered the game in the 7th inning and, facing the last 3 batters of the game, nailed down the victory with 2 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 0 hits.

Reagan’s defense was solid, with 10 putouts. Caden Roy, Jeter Battles, and Javi Cuevas all contributed to the win with multiple outs.

The Rattlers had discerning eyes at the plate, drawing 9 walks. Connor McCabe and Caden Crofts had 2 free passes each.  Battles scored the first run in the bottom of the 1st after eliciting a throwing error due to his aggressive lead at 2nd base.  Crofts and Cuevas came up with the big hits of the game, with a triple and a double respectively. Battles had an RBI single to 3rd base in the bottom of the 4th, scoring Cuevas, and Elias Leon had an RBI single to the left-center gap, scoring Crofts in the bottom of the 6th.  Baserunning was excellent for Reagan, with 5 stolen bases.  Isaiah Robledo had 2 SB, Crofts 1, Battles 1, and Matthew Butler 1.
