November 9, 2022

Reagan’s Ashton Beaird made his commitment official today to play baseball for New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. The Thunderbirds played in the NJCAA World Series in 2019 and earned the 2005 NJCAA National Championship and were runner up in 2007.

Beaird is a three year Varsity letterman for the Rattlers playing second and third base. He was a member of the 2022 6A State Finalist team and was named to the 6A All-Tournament Team. Also among his contributions, he was named 28-6A All-District Second Team and Academic All-District Team.

Ashton played select baseball for the South Texas Sliders. While with the Sliders, he played second base, third base, short stop, and outfield. The last two summers, he earned All-Tournament Team honors in three Perfect Game events and two Texas Premier events.

We wish Ashton a terrific 2023 season with the Rattlers and a strong future with the New Mexico Thunderbirds! You can follow him next year on Twitter @NMJC_BSB.
