The Texas Girls Coaches Association named Jennifer McHugh, Reagan’s Head Track & Field Coach, 5A-6A Coach of the Year. Coach McHugh earned that designation by coaching and guiding her team to 2nd place in the UIL State Track & Field Championship.
As she articulates her philosophy,” I value track for what it can give an athlete: discipline, self-sacrifice, strength in adversity, and an understanding of, and commitment to, something greater than one’s self. I believe in the refinement forged through struggle.”
In addition to Head Girls Track & Field Coach, McHugh is also the Assistant Athletic Director at Reagan High School. Head Athletic Director, Coach Hamilton, commented, “Coach McHugh exemplifies what coaching is all about. She’s a Life Coach. She brings out the best in everyone around her. She is dedicated to her kids and passionate on the track. I’m glad she’s in our Reagan Family.”
Thank you Coach McHugh for motivating, influencing, and inspiring, so many young women in Track & Field as well as countless other Reagan athletes and coaches. Well deserved recognition! #RattlerPride #WeAreReagan
