2023 Charger Classic

The Rattler varsity wrestlers competed in their first invitational meet of the season at Churchill High School this past Saturday.  The boys were 5th out of 25 teams, scoring points in almost all weight classes represented. Individual placers included:

Sr Bryce Whitethorn won the 126 weight class with 3 straight pins and a strong win in the championship match 7-3.

Jr Max Pechman placed second after strong showings in his first three matches with a pin, a major decision win, and a win to reach the championship match.

Sr Connor O’Brien won 3rd place, battling back after a loss in the semifinal match to record a major win and then secure 3rd place by a technical fall winning 17-2.

Sr Ben Taylor won 3rd place also battling back from a semifinal loss winning his last two matches by major decision (9-0 and 10-2)

Sr Kaiser Jabour placed 4th after pinning his first two opponents he battled back on the consolation side to reach the 3rd place match.

The girls team placed 9th out of 23 teams also scoring points in almost all weight class. So Hannah Dunn, So Mekayla Garcia and Fr Daniella Garcia just fell short of making the 3rd place match losing in the Consolation semi-finals.  Individual placers:

So Shobhana Spielmann placed second after 3 straight wins by pins.  She now has pinned everyone opponent she has faced this year except one.

All the wrestlers are happy to have a week off and be able to enjoy a well deserved break.  They are back on the mat at Reagan on Thursday Nov 30 when they host Judson High School.
