What an incredible evening of tennis we witnessed on Wednesday, September 9th, at Blossom Athletic Center, as the Reagan Tennis Team took on Lee High School!
With several injuries challenging our boys’ lineup, our coaches made strategic adjustments to the lines, and several of our players stepped up to the challenge. The result? An incredible 10–0 sweep for Reagan!
🎾 BOYS DOUBLES
On Line 1, Pablo Alvarez and Nathan Washington secured a beautiful 6–2, 6–3 victory, setting the tone for the team.
Line 2 featured Finn Thanairongroj and David Lopez, while Line 3 was played by Ramon Montano and Kayarmin Shahriari. Both lines delivered strong performances and contributed to the sweeping victory.
On the Mixed Doubles line, Hallie Crofts and Jerry He added another win to the board with an impressive 6–4, 6–0 victory.
🎾 GIRLS DOUBLES
On Line 2, Estefania Scanlon and Dhanvi Vagal battled their way to another great win, while Line 3, played by Dana Lee and Heidi Wilkinson, also finished with an amazing victory.
But on Girls Doubles Line 1, the intensity reached another level.
Naya Chreitah and Iris Wang faced Lee High School’s district No. 1 player and last year’s state qualifier, along with her partner. What followed was an incredible 2½-hour battle that showcased exactly what Reagan Tennis is all about: determination, strategy, and never giving up.
Naya and Iris fought through an incredibly close first set, taking it all the way to a tiebreaker, where they ultimately fell 6–7.
But they came back fighting.
They strategized before every point, adjusted their game, and pulled every trick in the book to take the second set 7–5.
And they weren’t finished.
The match went into a super tiebreaker, where Naya and Iris once again showcased their incredible determination and mental toughness. Point after point, they fought—and ultimately won the super tiebreaker against Lee High School!
What a proud moment for these two!
With their teammates and coaches standing courtside, cheering them on through every incredible point, Naya and Iris showed what it means to fight until the very end. Congratulations, ladies! What an unforgettable performance! 👏🎾
🎾 GIRLS SINGLES
While the girls’ doubles battle was still going, the coaches sent our singles players onto the courts.
Hallie Crofts took Line 1, Heidi Wilkinson played Line 2, and Camila Orozco took Line 3. All three girls showcased beautiful tennis and secured a sweeping win for Reagan!
🎾 BOYS SINGLES
On the boys’ singles side, Finn Thanairongroj played Line 1, David Lopez Line 2, and Jerry He Line 3.
All three players showcased amazing tennis and gave everyone on the sidelines an incredible show!
From battling through injuries and adjusting lineups to fighting through a 2½-hour thriller, this was a true team victory.
