Rattlers ready for Playoffs after successful season

October 26, 2016 – Varsity Volleyball is ready for the UIL State Playoffs after finishing the regular season undefeated in District (12-0) and with an overall record of 36-4.  Reagan begins Playoffs on Tuesday, November 1st at 7:00 p.m. against Hays HS at Canyon HS in New Braunfels. Given the talent and performance of the Rattlers this year, their prospects for this year’s tournament are strong. During the season, the Rattlers have exceeded the national averages for Kills/Set (13.5), Hitting Percentage (.248), Total Blocks (223) and Digs per Set (21.3).  Click here for additional MaxPreps stats.   When asked about this year’s playoffs, Coach Mike Carter commented,  “With the change in our region, the playoff road is going to be tougher than any other year. We have worked hard all season and are ready to make a playoff run. We also have the leadership and experience to handle the pressure to make a deep run.”

This team’s talent has already been recognized outside of Reagan with several players committed to play collegiate volleyball: Isabel “Izzy” DeLaRosa, Senior, Middle Blocker, has committed to DePaul University (Division I) in Chicago; Camryn Ennis, Junior, Setter/Hitter, has committed to Kansas University (Division I) in Lawrence; and Caroline Griffith, Senior, Middle Blocker, has committed to Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Division II) in Durant.

The Rattlers are led by Senior Team Captains: Laryssa Correa (Setter), Izzy DeLaRosa (Middle Blocker), Caroline Griffith (Middle Blocker), Faith Horan (Defensive Specialist), and Sydney Spears (Hitter).
