Player of the week
Taylor Whitlock, Alamo Heights: outside hitter, senior — Totaled 24 kills, 101 digs, 100 assists, seven blocks and four aces as the Mules went 10-0 last week, including winning the Mizuno Texas Showdown at Smithson Valley. She was named all-tournament.
Game balls
Reagan’s Tori Hinojosa recorded 262 assists, 88 digs, 15 blocks and six aces as the Rattlers went 9-1 and finished second at the Leander tournament. She was all-tournament.
Comfort’s Emily Martinez tallied 24 kills, 28 assists, 17 digs and four aces as the Deer won their own tournament, defeating Harper in the final.
