Comeback kills 2016 Reagan Rattlers Varsity’s hopes in 9-8 loss to CC King

Two-thousand-sixteen Reagan Rattlers Varsity held a comfortable seven-run lead in the third inning, but a big comeback by CC King ended 2016 Reagan Rattlers Varsity’s hopes in a 9-8 loss Friday at Veterans, Laredo. Reagan Rattlers Varsity’s Ramon Garza was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Even though D Delgadillo allowed eight runs over six innings he still recorded the victory. D Delgadillo struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits.

 

Seth Morrow was charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

 

The top of the first saw 2016 Reagan Rattlers Varsity take an early lead, 4-0. Cade Bormet singled to start things off before Garza singled, bringing home Grant Ellis. Two-thousand-sixteen Reagan Rattlers Varsity added more runs when Farish and Sosa scored on a two-run single by Ryan Kraus and Garza scored on an RBI single by Morrow. The lead stayed with CC King after the sixth, when it scored four runs on an error and two singles.

One run in the top of the seventh helped 2016 Reagan Rattlers Varsity close its deficit to 9-8. An RBI single by Ryan Kraus set off 2016 Reagan Rattlers Varsity rally. D Saenz ended the game by getting Morrow to strike out.
