Your Reagan Rattlers showed off their pitching depth in the Judson tournament this weekend, capping off a 5 win performance with a 10-0 thrashing of a sloppy Austin Akins in four innings for the championship at Steele HS on Saturday afternoon. The player of the game was a pretty easy choice. Sr Brad Hall got the shut-out win on the mound, tossing a run-rule abbreviated 3 hitter. Hall also had a break-out day at the plate; drilling a pair of singles and a towering home run… batting in 3 runs overall.
Reagan got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 2nd. Jr DH Cody Moon drew a lead-off walk. Hall singled up the middle. So 1B Bryce Dorn ripped a single to LF, scoring Moon… and an error by the LF allowed hustling pinch-runner (Jr) Keith Casey to score and Dorn to take 2nd. Dorn moved to 3rd on a groundout to SS by Jr 3B Josh Garza, and scored on a wild pitch. 3-0 Rattlers. Your Rattlers tacked on another 3-spot in the 3rd. Sr C Alex Kendall led off with a walk. Moon sacrificed pinch-runner (Sr) John Montaine to 2nd. Hall bombed the next pitch over the CF wall, a 2-run HR. With 2 outs, Jr LF Diego Flores reached on an infield single and advanced to 2nd on a SS throwing error. He later scored on another throwing error by the SS. 6-0 Rattlers.
Reagan put Akins out of their misery in the bottom of the 4th. Sr 2B Logan Nottebrook led off with a triple to straight-away CF. With 2 outs, Hall singled him home. After consecutive walks by Dorn and Flores, Garza cleared the bases with a 3-RBI double to deep LF… invoking the run-rule. 10-0 FINAL.
Congrats to Coach Chans Chapman and Rattlers!
