End of the road for Reagan, 57-45 loss to Bowie in Bi-District

Reagan lost 57-45 in Bi-District to Austin Bowie, Wednesday night in New Braunfels.  The Rattlers finished a stirring, comeback season at 23-11.

Your Reagan Rattlers took a 2-0 lead on the first possession of this playoff contest with Austin Bowie on a steal by Jr Max Yon followed by an assist to So Brian Hardy for a layup.  It was Reagan's only lead of the game.  Austin Bowie, who is now 28-4 for a reason (they're awfully good) immediately took control with 4 treys in the first quarter... storming out to an 18-9 lead after one quarter.

Bowie extended the margin to 33-14 during the 2nd quarter and led 37-21 going to half.

Reagan switched out of their zone defense to man-to-man and made some headway in the 3rd quarter and had their chances to cut the lead to single digits, but trailed 44-30 going to the 4th.

Reagan never seriously threatened in the final stanza, as Bowie pushed the lead to 57-37 with under 3 minutes left before Reagan scored the last 8 points of the ballgame.

Hats of to seniors Carlos Hernandez and Chris Patterson, capping off their high school basketball careers.

This is not the way Your Rattlers wanted the season to end, but this team... and the coaching staff led by Norm Galyon... is to be highly commended for fighting through gut-wrenching adversity and stringing together 8 consecutive wins to make the playoffs.
